Bendigo District Cricket Association Competition

In the 2021/22 season the Bendigo Cricket Club has two teams entered in the Women’s 1st XI competition. Our teams are known as ‘Bendigo’ and the ‘Bendigo Goers’. The women’s teams play for the Lisa Chesters Shield.

Bendigo CC is proud to have had two female teams compete in the BDCA women’s competition since it’s inception in the 2019/20 season. 2019/20 saw two season’s played, and our Bendigo Goers team secured a memorable premiership win in the post-Christmas season.

Both teams have proven ultra-competitive and represented the club wonderfully during their short but eventful journeys in cricket so far. In a competition where many local clubs have been unable to find sufficient numbers to form a team, to have two teams playing under the Bendigo CC banner is testament to the hard work from the coaches and team managers, and the commitment from the players themselves.

The women’s competition (known as the Lisa Chesters Shield) is played on Sunday’s from 10am, played in a 25-over one-day format. The standard of play is improving at a rapid rate, but pleasingly the competition still caters for players of all abilities and experience. Participation remains the priority with all team members having the opportunity to bat, bowl, and field. In the 2021/22 season our coaches are Ren Haeusler & Mark Ryan, and our captains; Bendigo – Amy Ryan, and Bendigo Goers – Ren Haeusler.
