JUNIORS

Bendigo District Cricket Association Competition

The Bendigo District Cricket Association competitions cater for young players of almost any age. Presently a junior player is considered any cricketer under the age of 18 (on the 1st September of each coming season). Junior players are also welcome to play in the senior competition should their skills be at the necessary level.

Bendigo CC currently provides playing opportunities to our young up & coming cricketers through teams in the Under 18, Under 16, Under 14, Under 12, Under 11, & Woolworths Master & Junior Blasters competitions. The Under 18 competition is played on turf wickets on Saturday mornings prior to the 2nd XI match, whilst the younger levels primarily play on synthetic (carpet) pitches. Our home junior oval is located at Shadforth Park, North Bendigo.

The format of the game varies dependent on age level, but again our focus is on ensuring our junior players get to enjoy playing cricket through fair and shared participation. Making new friends and seeing smiles on faces is how we measure success, and if there are wins along the way, we will enjoy that aspect too.

Our club provides caring and technically proficient coaches, who all hold current ‘Working With Children’ identification passes. We are however, always on the lookout for additional volunteers willing to help make the training and playing experience even more enjoyable for our junior players.
